Nose: Dry Summer Wheat with a swirl of spice. A concentrated laser of oak that offers the image of a fall oak tree with the leaves turning a little orange. A very captivating and intoxicating sense of sweetness. My nose-hair tingles a little towards the end.
Mid-palate: Liquor front that transition to mature oak - similar to KOK’18 and mature items; just not as potent. The sweetness captivates the oak as if it is a belt that champions the maturity. Elements of tobacco, hay, leather shows up as you sip more and more. The sweetness shows up in the front after the third sip and seems to take hold of the midpalate. Once can imagine the campfire that has the flicker of ember and the popping sound of wood that is burning well into the night – a moment where there isn’t a care of the world; where life feels a touch bit simpler. A crisp Autumn day in October. More and more sweetness shines seemingly migrating to the chest to offer a Kentucky hug. The finish lingers and lingers with the oak and red fruit. The flavor lingers on the tongue. The campfire transforms into a grand ball as if a bit of celebration of achieving something worthwhile.
Verdict: The flavor and soft intensity just stays with you – offering a blanket of warmth. Never have I had a rose that lingers so long... The flavor seems to stay with you and impacts your body’s disposition. A wonderful addition to the Roses family – an item worthy of the Four Roses legacy.
